Parte 1

Preguntas personales

Responde a tres preguntas sobre ti. Tienes 30 segundos para cada una.

1Please tell me about your hometown.

Ver respuesta modelo

I'm from Bilbao, a city in the north of Spain. It's not very big, but there's always something to do. I love the old town and the river, and the food is fantastic.

2What do you usually do at the weekend?

Ver respuesta modelo

At the weekend I usually meet my friends. On Saturdays we often go for a walk by the river or watch a football match, and on Sundays I relax and study a bit.

3Tell me about a person you admire.

Ver respuesta modelo

I really admire my grandmother. She started her own business when she was fifty, and she's still learning new things. She's patient, funny and always gives good advice.

Parte 2

Describir una foto

Imagina la foto y responde a tres preguntas. Tienes 45 segundos para cada una.

Foto: un grupo de cuatro jóvenes sentados en el césped de un parque en un día soleado. Uno toca la guitarra y los demás comen y se ríen.

1Describe this picture.

Ver respuesta modelo

In this picture I can see four young people sitting on the grass in a park. It looks like a sunny day. One of them is playing the guitar, and the others are eating and laughing, so they seem to be having a great time.

2Tell me about the last time you spent time outdoors with friends.

Ver respuesta modelo

The last time was two weeks ago. We went to the beach in Sopelana. We had lunch, played volleyball and stayed until the sunset. It was a really relaxing day.

3Do you prefer spending your free time outdoors or at home? Why?

Ver respuesta modelo

I prefer being outdoors, especially when the weather is good. I spend a lot of time studying inside, so when I'm free I need fresh air and some exercise. In winter, though, I enjoy staying at home and watching films.

Parte 3

1Tell me what you see in the two pictures.

Ver respuesta modelo

Both pictures show people working on a computer. In the first one, a person is working in a busy café with lots of people around, while in the second one someone is working alone in a quiet office. The café looks more relaxed, but probably much noisier.

2Which place would you prefer to work in? Why?

Ver respuesta modelo

I'd prefer the office, because I need silence to concentrate. In a café I would get distracted by the noise and the people. However, a café could be nice for short tasks like answering emails.

3Why do you think some people like working in cafés?

Ver respuesta modelo

I think some people like cafés because they feel less lonely there. Working at home every day can be boring, and in a café there's a nice atmosphere, good coffee and a change of scenery.

Parte 4

  1. Tell me about a time when you learned something new outside school.
  2. How did you feel?
  3. Why do you think many adults find it hard to learn new skills?
Ver respuesta modelo

A couple of years ago I learned to cook properly. I watched videos online and practised every weekend, and at the beginning I made a lot of mistakes. I felt frustrated at first, but after a few months I felt really proud, because now I can cook for my friends. I think many adults find it hard to learn new skills because they don't have much free time and they're afraid of looking silly. Children aren't worried about making mistakes, but adults often are. Also, after a long day at work, it's difficult to find the energy to study.
